Garage Door Opener (HomeLink®)

Using the garage door opener on the vehicle

With the HomeLink® system, remote-controlled equipment (e.g. garage door/gate to your property, security systems, house lights) can be activated from inside the vehicle.

The HomeLink® system replaces up to three different original remote controls. The signal for a remote control can be assigned to one of the three memory buttons on the overhead console. The relevant device can then be operated via the programed button.

  • Please read the instructions for the original remote control.

Information on the compatibility of your vehicle’s HomeLink® system with the original hand transmitter can be obtained from

Pinching, crushing or knocking against the operated equipment
Risk of accidents when using or programing the garage door opener if persons or animals are within the range of movement of the equipment that is being operated.

  • When using or programing the HomeLink® system, make sure that no persons, animals or objects are within the range of movement of the equipment that is being operated.
  • Observe the safety notes for the original remote control.

Information

  • Before selling the vehicle, delete the programed signals for the garage door opener.

Operating the garage door opener

  1. Ignition is switched on.
  2. Vehicle aligned towards the receiver and within range of the receiver (signal is transmitted forwards in direction of travel).
  • Press and hold the corresponding HomeLink® button on the overhead console. The light indicator on button (Fig. 94) lights up during signal transmission.

Programming garage door opener

Programing of the HomeLink® system is carried out from the overhead console and in the direct vicinity of the vehicle front.

  1. Ignition is switched on.
  2. Turn signals are switched off.
  3. Engine not running.
  4. Vehicle aligned towards the receiver and within range of the receiver (signal is transmitted forwards in direction of travel).

Information
If programing a garage door opener or gate, it is advised to unplug the device during “cycling” process to prevent possible motor burn-up.
