Child restraint systems
Porsche recommends child restraint systems from Porsche Tequipment.

  • Ask your Porsche partner for advice about the installation options for Porsche child restraint systems.
  • Please refer to chapter “RECOMMENDED CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS (SECURED WITH THE SEAT BELT)” on page 43
  • Please refer to chapter “RECOMMENDED CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS (SECURED USING ISOFIX SYSTEM)” on page 44.

Improper use of the child restraint system
Child restraint systems that are not suitable for the vehicle type or are not properly installed in the vehicle do not provide adequate protection in the event of an accident.

  • Always observe the separate operating instructions for the child restraint systems for installation, use and proper securing of the child.
  • Only use child restraint systems recommended for your Porsche.
These systems have been tested and adjusted to the interior of your Porsche and the appropriate child weight groups.
Other systems have not been tested and could present an increased risk of injury.

Child restraint equipment on the passenger seat
The passenger airbag offers protection only for persons of a certain minimum size and minimum weight. If a child restraint system is installed on the passenger seat or in the case of small or light persons, there is a risk of serious or fatal injury when the airbag is triggered.

  • The passenger airbag must always be switched off if child restraint systems are installed on the passenger seat. Ask your Porsche partner for advice about the installation options for a Porsche child restraint system.
  • Adjust the passenger seat backrest angle to ensure firm contact between the passenger seat and the child restraint system.

  • Always switch off the heated seats if child restraint systems are installed.
  • Before installing a child restraint system in which the child sits facing the direction of travel, adjust the relevant headrest as high as possible.

For information on adjusting the headrests:

  • Please refer to chapter “HEADRESTS” on page 34.

To switch off the passenger airbag:

  • Please refer to chapter “SWITCHING PASSENGER AIRBAG ON AND OFF” on page 49.
