Entering the PIN

As soon as you have switched on the telephone and inserted the SIM card, you are prompted to enter the PIN (PIN = Personal Identification Number).
You will find the PIN in the documentation you received from your network provider.

  1. Enter the PIN by selecting the keys on the keypad shown.
The digits entered are displayed in the input field as asterisks.
  2. Confirm your entry by selecting "OK".

If you enter the wrong PIN three times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To unblock the card you must enter the so-called PUK (Pin Unblocking Key). Follow the instructions on the PCM display for this.
If you enter the wrong PUK ten times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. This block can only be removed by the network provider.
You can deactivate the PIN prompt after the device is switched. To find out more, please refer to the section "Switching the PIN prompt on and off" on page 94 as well as " "Using a stored PIN" on page 94".
