As soon as you have switched on the telephone
and inserted the SIM card, you are prompted to
enter the PIN (PIN = Personal Identification Number).
You will find the PIN in the documentation you
received from your network provider.
Enter the PIN by selecting the keys on the
keypad shown.
The digits entered are displayed in the input
field as asterisks.
Confirm your entry by selecting "OK".
If you enter the wrong PIN three times in a row, the
SIM card will be blocked. To unblock the card you
must enter the so-called PUK (Pin Unblocking
Key). Follow the instructions on the PCM display
for this.
If you enter the wrong PUK ten times in a row, the
SIM card will be blocked. This block can only be
removed by the network provider.
You can deactivate the PIN prompt after the
device is switched. To find out more, please refer
to the section "Switching the PIN prompt on and
off" on page 94 as well as " "Using a stored PIN" on
page 94".
Having a conversation
There is a hands-free microphone in the steering
column trim panel (sports car) or in the roof
control console (Cayenne) of the vehicle. This
means that you can conduct all telephone calls
without using a handset.
You control the volume using the left rotary
knob .
The microphone is directed towards the driver
to optimize the hands-free quality.
Conducting a call using the headset
Select "Hands-free" in the call menu to switch
to hands-free mode.
Select "Headset" in the call menu to terminate
hands-free mode. The call is transferred back
to the headset.
The call can only be conducted using the
headset if this has previously been connected
to the PCM via Bluetooth®.

Conducting a call using the cordless handset
Select "Hands-free" in the call menu to switch
to hands-free mode.
Press the Lift receiver button on the cordless
handset to terminate hands-free mode. The
call is transferred back to the cordless
handset. To find out more, please also refer to
the section "Cordless handset (with PCM
telephone only)" on page 80.
Temporarily muting the telephone microphone
During the call, select "Mute microphone" to switch the function on ( ) and off ( ).
