You call up the map display of the navigation
system by pressing the button.
Your vehicle is shown in the map display as a
triangular arrow. The arrowhead points in the
direction of travel. The center of the vehicle is
represented by the black dot in the middle of the
small triangle.
The recommended travel route, streets, rivers,
railroad tracks, wooded areas, or lakes are
displayed as colored lines or areas.
Smaller icons indicate points of interest like
hotels, gas stations etc.
The detail depends on the map scale set.
Route guidance continues through voice
announcements.
When route guidance is active, either the expected
time of arrival or the remaining trip time in hours
as well as the distance to the destination is
displayed at the bottom of the display. You can
switch back and forth between the two options by
briefly touching the display.
If the XM NavTraffic Service of XM Satellite Radio is enabled, road sections with high traffic volumes
causing congestion will be displayed in a different
color.
– Red colored line Estimated average speed on red colored street sections below 10 mph.
– Yellow colored line Estimated average speed on yellow colored street sections below 30 mph.
– Green colored line Estimated average speed on green colored street sections below 50 mph.

Changing the scale of the map
The current scale is shown in the bottom right of the map in the map display.
Set the desired map scale by turning the right rotary knob .
A number of map views also display the two symbols and .
Change the desired map scale by touching the two symbols on the display.
